L'estudi analitza la discriminació en el treball, remarcant la desfavorable posició dels immigrants i les minories en el mercat de treball, i recolzant-se en inventaris detallats que evidencien situacions de discriminació. Malgrat la llarga tradició i l'assentament de comunitats d'immigrants extracomunitaris, el seu mercat de treball com a destí continua estant restringint a un seguit de sectors: construcció, indústria, serveis a la llar, etc. I això també malgrat la contínua legislació dels estats membres contra la discriminació. Aquest informe analitza tots aquests aspectes, totes les implicacions i causes d'aquesta comparació, establint un paral·lelisme entre les diverses realitats d'aquests 15 estats.
